Working on some Dark Damsel displays! I only have 2 of these available and the backgrounds are a bit different for each. I’ll be adding these guys to the shop later tonight so be sure to keep an eye out for updates. These almost always sell immediately so I figured I’d give you guys a heads up. Anyhoo, these fancy black frame displays feature a large dark damselfly on an antiqued letter style background. The damselfly appears to be black at first glance but on closer inspection, the damselfly is actually a rich midnight blue with blue and purple sparkling wings. They are absolutely breathtaking in person when you can view them up close.
Really excited to be able to make a couple of these :)

This skull is from a Chinese water deer. These herbivores are found in east-central China, and in Korea. They weigh between 20-31 pounds, and feed on reeds, grasses, and vegetables. The large canine teeth are used are used by males during the rut, and for defense against predators. The canine teeth on females are much smaller.

This is a skeleton of an African Rock Python, that I took today at the Colorado Gators Reptile Park today in Mosca, Colorado. I had some mixed feelings about the place. I talked to many of the employees and they are all super passionate about the animals, but I find a lot of their husbandry practices disappointing. They primarily work with alligators, and while I don’t know a whole bunch about them (I am a snake person) they all seemed pretty healthy and well cared for. I was very disappointed in most of the snakes enclosures, however. I’m not going to go into that now, but I did think that this picture was worth sharing tonight. What did make me happy was seeing how many people today change their minds about reptiles. Almost all of the snakes they had were rescues.
